Transfer from Bratislava Airport to Vienna

If you travel to your conference in Vienna by plane you will presumably arrive at the Vienna International Airport, which is approx. 15 km away from Vienna. Some low cost carriers however do not alight at the Vienna International Airport but use the Bratislava Airport in slovakia for flights to Vienna, which is approx. 55 km away from Vienna. On this page we have prepared a list of the different transfer possibilities from the airport to Vienna.

Bratislava Airport (BTS)

You have the possibility to get from Bratislava Airport to Vienna by airport bus, by train, by ship on the river Danube or by taxi. Some airline carriers also offer a transfer to Vienna if you order in advance.

If you cannot take the airport bus or a transfer, which is organized by your airline carrier, we recommend to book a flight to the Vienna International Airport (VIE), because in that case the transfer is much easier and quicker.

Airport Bus Vienna - Bratislava

The driving time according to the timetable is approx. 110 min. The place of departure and arrival in Vienna is the Südtiroler Platz, where you have access to the underground line U1 and to the trains of the Südbahn and Ostbahn.

Railway

There is also a railway connection between Vienna South Station and Bratislava Main Station (hlavná stanica). The journey time is approx. between 60 and 90 min. depending on the type of train. For the trip between Bratisalva Main Station and Bratislava Airport you can use public transport (Bus Nr. 61 - trip time approx. 25 min.) or a taxi.

Note: Keep in mind that there is a surcharge for luggage, when using the public transport in Bratislava.
